The Cheng lab has openings for new Ph.D. students. We are looking for highly motivated and intelligent students who are interested in biomaterials and immunoengineering. We can accept students admitted by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. Students with a background in soft materials, organic chemistry or biomedical engineering are preferred.
Two open positions are available for BS/MS and MS students to work on two collaborative projects. One project is a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Michel Barsoum. The student will study plasma protein adsorption and complement activation on MXenes and graphene oxides. The 2nd project is a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Andrew Magenau to develop a zwitterionic polymer coating for nanoparticles and implantable devices.
